This is the original, hand signed master Thank You letter by the young Queen to guests attending her father, King George VI’s vigil in Sandringham Church! The event took place from the 8th to 11th of February, 1952. A magnificent piece representing one of the few first signed documents of the new Queen, by only days, of the British empire. The letter reads “I want to express to you my sincere thanks for the part which you took in Vigil over The late King, my father, in Sandringham Church from the 8th to the 11th February, 1952.” PSA/DNA Authenticated and encapsulated, rated in fine condition. King George VI died in his sleep at Sandringham House on February 6, 1952, after battling numerous ailments for years. This message from Queen Elizabeth was her expressing gratitude to those who kept vigil for her father the King at his first resting place. This would have been one of Queen Elizabeth II’s first official act as sovereign! At only 25 years old, Queen Elizabeth became the queen of England and earned the respect of the world in the coming decades during her long and extraordinary life.
