This iconic mini-bike, first introduced in 1968, was one of the first mini-bikes in the United States, and it was a must have. The Mini Trail rapidly gained popularity because, well, it was a real motorcycle. Timeless for its sturdy construction, reliable performance, and just an insanely fun ride. With the iconic and nearly indestructible Honda 49cc, four-stroke engine producing 3.3 horsepower, the Z50 KO had a top speed of around 25 miles per hour, making it perfect for off-road adventures for riders of all ages, or even junior motocross racing.
This '68 K0 has been brought back to life though a Concours restoration by a Honda factory certified technician. Where new parts were needed, only Honda NOS parts were used. Ride? Perfect, featuring a telescopic front suspension and rear shock absorption the job of the deep padded seat! Thus, these early pre-1972 Mini Trails are nick named the "Hard Tails" of mini-bikes. In classic red/white or yellow/white color schemes, these Mini's quickly became a favorite among enthusiasts. Today, it's extremely rare to find a showroom-quality specimen, and this bike is just that, meticulously maintained and restored.
After a thrilling ten year run, the Z50 Mini Trail was eventually replaced by the Z50R motocross focused model in 1979, but to this day the Z50A Mini Trail remains a highly sought-after collector's item. Wow! I remember buying my kids one of these back in the 70’s. That bike is in amazing condition for being over 50 years old!
