Walt Disney Signed Letter on The Little Mermaid!

Description

Walt Disney Signed Letter on Fantasia Letterhead (Walt Disney, 1941). An incredible and rare Walt Disney signature and a perfect example of "NEVER SAY NEVER."

This Disney pre-WWII hand-signed letter on April 29, 1941 states that the Disney Studios, "...present plans do not include any live action production..." Imagine, no Mary Poppins, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Love Bug, even Disney's modern productions including Star Wars!

Walt discusses the live footage from the Disney Studio Lot in the 1941 film The Reluctant Dragon; which serves today as a time capsule of those extraordinary years. & Remarkably, Walt then mentions a Hans Christian Anderson story Disney has been developing since 1939 for a project through Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, saying "our interest here lies only in the cartoon end." That project? The Little Mermaid!

When the Walt Disney Studios released The Little Mermaid in 1986, christening the renaissance of Walt Disney Feature Animation, they completed 47 years of development on this extraordinary story, mentioned here by Walt Disney himself in this letter, 45 years before the film's release!

The letter has a bold Walt Disney signature and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from the renowned Disney expert Phil Sears. Stationary has three folds from mailing and is presented in Very Good condition through an experienced, reputable Disney auction house.

Presented by The DisneyCollection.
